Posture Support Beds
A good nights sleep is essential to your well being but can be very hard to achieve when suffering from back or neck pain. Postural alignment and optimum support, in the right places, is vital to achieving a level of comfort which allows the body to sleep. Don’t be influenced by mass marketing gimmicks – ‘orthopaedic’ often means the bed is too hard, whilst ‘memory foam’ is not right for every condition. When selecting a new bed ALWAYS lie on it for at least 20 minutes and make sure you understand the important technical specifications like spring count and construction, side stitching and filling.
At the Total Back Care Centre, we have dedicated a private area to the trial of beds and pillows. Customers can spend as long as they like trying out our sleeping options without embarrassment or disturbance. Our Assessors will check postural alignment, whilst you judge the level of comfort and support achieved.
As every body is different, all our beds can be tailor made to suit the individual. Extra length or width can be added and each side of a double/ queen/king bed can be independently sprung to suit each partners needs.

Simply a 4’6" Harrison Mattress has the same sleeping area as a 5’ non side stitched mattress. Impressive! There is no hard sell and the company does not bombard you with communications. Neck Support Pillows
Selecting the right pillow can make an enormous difference to the quality of sleep achieved. As with all back care products, there is no one size fits all solution, there couldn’t be due to the diversity of the human body. The important thing is to make sure that your cervical spine is held in horizontal alignment in the neck supporting section of the pillow and that the crown of the head neither over extends or sits too high on the main section of the pillow.
Samples of all our pillows are available to try out at the Centre. Our Assessors will check your spinal alignment is correctly supported, whilst you judge the level of comfort and pain relief achieved. As with lumbar supports, choosing the wrong pillow could aggravate a condition, so it is essential to get advice from a medical therapist or back care specialist and try before you buy. We see so many people who have bought on line and selected the wrong pillow for their frame size and condition and then been unable to return the pillow (for hygiene reasons) as they have opened the packaging to try it out. Others have followed the marketing hype around Memory Foam, only to find it too firm or too hot for them. Please make sure you get the right advice and always try a pillow for size, comfort and support prior to purchase.
